For an hour or so everything was working great and I am really loving this version. However one picture I processed and converted to B/W wouldn’t export. Then I started getting the same error on every picture I tried to export including ones where I made no adjustments and was converting to JPG. I’ve restarted DXO PL and the computer. Afterwards I got one picture to export but after that none will. The error says: “Internal error (Correction failed on the execute stage)”
I’ll just give you the whole thing. I forgot to say that after installing Windows 11 my computer has slowed down to late 90’s XP. It’s terrible. Anyway here’s the info:

Your graphics card is way below the minimum spec for PL9, as is your 8th gen Core i7 CPU, which is why you are getting errors when trying to use the AI masking features.
Your options are limited. You can persevere with your existing hardware and not use any of the AI masks. Or you can invest in better hardware. The latter will be expensive but in the long run it’s the only fix for these errors.
Regarding AI masks: use ONLY ‘manual’ AI masks (selection, area) and NOT USE pre-defined (like Sky, Subject, etc) AI masks at all (not even click on that)
For export use DP3 (and NOT DP3 XD)
DON’T use Loupe, Deepprimerendering
Close all other applications as possible. All. No web browsers. Close even the small little apps in the tray (example: ChatGPT client also use like 200MB GPU VRAM, etc.)
Set parallel export to 1
Its works fine for me in the last 7 months. 20Mpix Olympus Raw, 4GB AMD RX550. PL: Max performance mode. I dont have experience with nVidia cards w 4GB. However, its a ‘free amount of GPU VRAM game’, its can works for any.
Note:
You need to ‘shave’ the system to get free GPU VRAM amount as possible.
NR: DP3 use less GPU VRAM than DP3 XD
‘Manual AI’ masks (selection, area) use less GPU VRAM than ‘Pre-defined’ AI masks
Dont matter how many ‘manual’ AI mas used, once its works, its works.
Export sometimes a hit-or-miss.
If you even once click on Loupe, or Pre-defined AI masks → quit form PL. As they use a lot of GPU VRAM amount.
I suggest to quit from PL before Export.
With PL9.8x sometimes export works with DP3 XD also (i not test it too deeply)
@Peleg what @andras.csore says is true, it’s just not a particularly smooth experience.
When PL9 was released back in Sept 2025 I had an ancient system. It had a third gen i5 CPU, 8GB RAM and a GTX 1050Ti 4GB VRAM card. It was fine running PL7 (but I’m only an amateur). I trailed PL9 on it and it did work but I had to be really really, patient. I had to pause after nearly every click to give the system time to keep up with what I was doing. Also, I could only use the ‘point and click to select’ AI masks and only use one or two of those at a time. If I tried to use one of the predefined masks they either gave an error (and thus a restart of PL to ensure the error was fully cleared) or they said no sky/background/whatever could be detected. Finally, I had to wait five or more minutes for the export to complete.
I already knew I had to get a new machine as this old machine was not Win 11 compatible so it was just a matter of finding a new system that met PL9’s requirements and fitted my budget. I bought my current system in January 2026 at a price lower than I’d seen for the same machine on Black Friday. I’m very pleased with its performance. The RTX 5070 12GB card means I get export time of just a few seconds.
I know your issue is with Windows, but I thought I should mention that I encountered the same problem on an M3 MacBook Air, which does meet minimum specs. It only occurs intermittently (1-2x per day) and when using AI masks, and it is usually fine if I repeat the export a second time. I had a discussion with DxO’s technical support, and they had nothing to suggest beyond upgrading MacOS and DxO to the latest versions, which I had already done, Their only other suggestion was not using the AI features, after which they closed the ticket. In fairness, they did request a screen video of the error, which I couldn’t provide because it occurs infrequently. I am not sure what will happen when Apple releases OS Golden Gate in July, but I am apprehensive.
