When a I select any predefined options, I get message:
“AI mask could not find anything matching your selection.”
The other selection, “Add a selection” and “Add an área” is Ok.

It stopped working for me when I upgraded from Tahoe 26.0 to 26.1
I have raised a support ticket for the problem, there is another post on this topic : Click
It might be general issue, affecting Windows too. Predefined masks are still very unreliable on both platforms, as seen in several topics here, e.g. PL 9.2 interesting AI idea of what a sky looks like 😀 . Just use what works.
On the Mac with OS Taheo 26.1, the masks are currently not working at all, including the existing masks that were already created. Previously (with OS Taheo 26.01), they mostly worked reliably on the Mac, at least for people and faces.
Therefore, I see this as a separate issue that has nothing to do with the general problems with the masks.
OK, so it looks like there are two similar problems, one for Tahoe 26.1 and a general one.
This happens, when the subject is not AutomatIcally recognized.
Just skip it and use the other AI modes or try the improved Autobrush or …
I tested it on an image that already had a mask made with the previous version and it was OK. I deleted the old mask and tried to redo it with the new version, then it didn’t work. I believe that the macOS update, which happened just today, before I updated PhotoLab, there are some incompatibility.
None of my previous images with AI Subject masks are now working, they all have the warning sign next to them.
I’m hoping that DXO can resolve this quickly.
I have had the same experience too.
Two well defined women in the picture that the AI-preset “People” totally failed to nail. It was really slow too.
Well there is some progress for me. The predefined masks now finds the subjects but the export fails! After this export fail it seems all exports fail until a restart of PL9.2
So, halfway there for me!
They work too good for me now (AI Masks become even more powerful thanks to improved matting and an upgraded sensibility threshold for cleaner, more accurate edges around complex subjects) ![]()
Adapt, as usual.
Today there was an update to PhotoLab 9.2.0 build 31, but the issues are’nt fixed.
9.2.0.31 was released almost 2 weeks ago, actually. I’ve had it installed since prior to reporting my own masking issues.
After the last build 32 and at least in my computer the predefined options is working. Thank you DxO Team.
