Really looking forward to it.
It will most likely be released in early September. We will discover the new features once it is released.

Iām hoping thereās nothing that persuades me to upgrade until 11 comes along next year. ![]()
Perhaps the AI masking might be a tad better. And maybe some AI generative fill? Probably not, though, as it is not within the paradigm of ālet the user do the grunt work and let some other app like ON1 or Capture One do the AI stuffā. Other than AI enhancements, Iām not sure Iāll upgrade. And since I just bought 9.10 a few weeks ago, will I still have to pay for the upgrade? Probably, yes.
If what you have serves you, why bother at all? If DxO doesnāt change policy, PL 9 and 8 will still get updates.
Iām fairly sure that version 10 will come with flowery words - and itās best to get the free trial around X-mas, when the roughest edges have been polished. Prepare your PC (backups, updates etc.) and check the requirements!
I agree after version 9 which was only really out of BETA well into this year. A trial in July or August on the 9 experience
I am disillusioned with DXO. I didnāt upgrade to PL9 as I would have had to upgrade my not very old video card, and we all know how pricing has gone on that.
āitās best to get the free trial around X-mas, when the roughest edges have been polished.ā
As expensive as DXO is with their āpurchase 3 products to get all the featuresā scenario, now with them releasing product before it is ready that shortens viable release windows by 25%. I started with ver. 7 Elite and upgraded to Ver 8, and will continue to use 8 as long as viable for me, but I doubt I will be purchasing DXO PL again. A shame as the results can be great, but at the price it is not worth having to deal with essentially beta version software for a good portion of the release window. Just my opinionā¦
I did a poll on the FB dxo users group think 70% upgrade every year.
As do I on black friday
Pretty confident we will see the dust removal that recently emerged in PureRaw and would be good to see the repair tool improved substantially. The one in Pixelmator is so much better.
A word about upgrading or buying a new license:
Buying a new license will add it to the shop account for easy re-downloading and as a backup for the license key.
Buying an upgrade will remove the upgraded product(s) and license key(s) from the shop account. Itās therefore a good idea to copy, before upgrading, the download links for Mac and Win as well as the keys of the to-be-upgraded product(s). Keeping this information can come in handy at times.
Hint: This works only as long as DxO keeps the current shop policy. Iāve seen products and product info come and go in my account and older product might lose the download links. Itās therefore a good idea to save the info in both cases.
I agree totally that PL9 was a disaster when released, really not ready! But I have to say that after all the updates of PL the AI masking is really doing wonders with the ease, I can get the results I want from PhotoLab. Iām quite sure they will not repeat the same mistake this year!
I learn from my mistakes I seem to be able to repeat them time after time ![]()
Youād hope not, but itās a safe bet they will make new mistakes this year.
Normally every new software that is released will have an update or more after release⦠Last year with the new AI stuff was in my experience exceptional and Iām on PL9 now and have had every version from PL4.
The AI masking was welcome and I was one who asked for it a lot, but I still find Adobeās AI masking superior unfortunately. Maybe the algorithms can be improved. I find Adobeās masking faster, more accurate and more featured especially for people. Of course Adobe have a lot more resources in terms of software development.
Iād just like what I bought last year to be faster on a 32GB M1Max. And Iād like the bug in the D700+24-702.8G module that breaks lens sharpness optimization (that I reported despite a barrage of gaslighting AI agent replies) to be fixed. Thatās pretty much it. Iāve found ways to make the AI masking work for me by combining masks.
A year fixing bugs and optimized would be great. If any time left add phone formats as jpg for just that level of editing
Off topic ā¦
This is not a particularly exotic camera-lens combination, supported since ā¦

I just wonder whatās your problem.
I donāt know what youāre getting at here. They confirmed there was a bug to me ā my lens sharpness optimization simply doesnāt work. At all. Thatās my problem. It doesnāt work. On Mac. You appear to be on Windows. Youāre right. Itās not an exotic combination. It should work. It doesnāt.
Iāve noticed the problem also on Windows. See Sharpness optimisation not working on the Nikon D700 + 24-70 f/2.8 - #2 by Wlodek and a report there on similar issue with PR. Rarely you can come across strange things in PL, like no support for Nikon 16/2.8D Fisheye on D780, which is supported on similar body D750.
