I usually uninstall these apps before installing updates. It has worked without fail. Now I get “installer encountered an error” and the installer puts up a beach ball no matter where I scroll over them.
Is there a workaround?

read my post there:
short answer, sequoia isn’t supported yet by dxo.

Damn, I guess I should consider myself lucky that PL8 Elite installed without issue.
Yes, that seems to be the problem. Shows how limited their resources are, or how complicated they are making their licensing system.
Licensing has nothing to do with the installer or installer related problems.
License is managed post install.
Well my VP is licensed / activated under PL7, but won’t activate under PL8 as it thinks it’s already activated, which it is.
FP, by contrast is activated under both.
(This is without the standalone apps.)
you need to activate license only when first installed, i don’t recall having to copy/paste license number from one version of PL to another.
Well it isn’t activated on pl8 but is in pl7.
you can’t run the installer yet on sequoia, anyway at the time i started the post linked above, unless there’s been an update yet which i haven’t checked.
You can install them manually through the terminal, I used the command
sudo installer -pkg '/Volumes/DxO FilmPack 7/Install DxO FilmPack 7.pkg' -target /
Obviously change the path to the pkg as necessary
Thanks. I don’t actually use them standalone, but the features that they activate now seem to work for me in PL8. Their roadmaps suggests that they will fix this up this month, so let’s wait and see.
