I added your experiences to the open ticket, thanks for providing the information.
Same. I have yet to send them the issue log that theyâve ask for.
So AI Subject Detection is not working with macOS 26 or macOS 26.1 in PL 9.2?
Correct, the\began with the MacOS update 26.1, the update to PL9.2 came a couple of days later. So the issue also affects PL9.1.
There was a similar OS update to Sequoia, so those users are also affected.
It was working fine in 26.0
I sent in my diagnostic file and video of what âwasnât workingâ yesterday morning. I was impressed at how responsive DxO was on this as that emailed to say that they hadnât received my file/video (on vacationâŚ) and than asked when I might be sending so that can either close the inquiry or keep it open.
Reported as well. if enough folks do report⌠perhaps they will uncork this thing!
Does this appear to be a problem for all users of macOS 26.1? Or perhaps itâs isolated to certain configurations?
So far no-one has posted that it works for them.
In my case thatâs due to your very timely first post, after which I blocked the Tahoe update.
Many thanks for the post!
I received the exact same stock phrases and standard replies from support. Iâve given up trying to report any problems with DxO software. You submit a comprehensive and detailed error report, including all system-relevant data, but somehow you can tell from the DxO supportâs response that they either donât read or review any of it, or only a fraction of it.
All to often all you get a standard and at times totally irrelevant demand for videos and running a diagnostic program (in my case for a lense profile still not corrrcting for distance).
To confirm, I have the same problem.
I canât confirm that. Support is sometimes slow, but I never get the impression that theyâre not dealing with it. And with 200 requests per day, you canât expect individual responses, at least not for an initial inquiry. Since youâre being too critical, I think thatâs appropriate.
Thatâs why I would ask everyone who has this problem to contact support.
Just stick with it - report the issue and send them the diagnostic report. Usually they will let you know when they have been able to replicate the problem and that it has been send to development. They will also tell you which release it will be fixed in.
The initial emails they send are standard template responses but respond anyway telling them you have tried all their suggestions and then run the diagnostic app of theirs and send the diagnostic report.
Send them a screen recording showing the problem if necessary.
So far every bug I have reported they have eventually responded to.
Still waiting for a response to the AI masks/macOS 26.1 bug report though. Possibly an Apple bug that needs fixing.
I may be a bit dim, but where do I go to report such problems?

macOS Tahoe 26.1 Regression Affecting DxO PhotoLab
Apple introduced a regression in macOS Tahoe 26.1 that is currently causing issues in multiple applications using the CoreML framework.
DxO PhotoLab is affected, specifically in the AI Mask feature.
Apple is working on a fix, but until it is available, we recommend avoiding the macOS Tahoe 26.1 update and staying on version 26.0 or earlier to ensure full functionality of DxO PhotoLab 9.
For users already on macOS Tahoe 26.1, DxO is developing version 9.2.1 to bypass the affected component and restore normal AI Mask operation ahead of Appleâs correction.
We will notify users as soon as DxO PhotoLab 9.2.1 is released.
I am excited that a DxO employee is responding to the topic here. And I hope the problem can be resolved quickly.
It would have been nice if the warning about the update to 26.1 had been posted here earlier, as the bug certainly appeared in the beta version of 26.1 and would surely have been noticed during testing.
Thanks @Fabrice-B!
Some of us users on Sequoia are having very similar issues as well. Does the CoreML framework regression apply to the latest update of Sequoia, too?
PL9 AI selection tools not working for me. The old U-Point masks continue to work. But none of the AI selection tools successfully hit the target. On latest Mac OS Tahoe running on Apple Mini M4 Pro. Big disappointment. No response from DXO support. Stripped out PL9 â downloaded new installation from the site but no luck.
