Support for Sony a7v

When will an update with support for Sony A7V be released? Atleast for one version of the raw files ideally lossless compressed adobe supports that already.

Welcome to the forum @Cherma2

You can always check the status of gear support here:

If gear isn’t listed, it might be waiting to get processed for support or might never come. Gear from the big companies eventually gets processed, once DxO can get it on loan. Sometimes, we get info about gear updates from @Marie . Search for her latest posts.

Updates happen regularly, but it’s good practice to NOT hold one’s breath.

You will find the information in this post.

It’s out now. Has anybody done any tests?

What came out ? A7V or support from DxO ?
Yes, the A7V has been available for a few weeks, and support from DxO is planned for this month.

The support is out for the RAW from the camera. It is in their database of supported cameras.

This will happen with the February version which should not be long.

Well, we´ll see. When A7 IV was new it took DXO not less than six months to release a profile for A7 IV. There is a lot of bull around the camera profiles I think. That time we were a few that found out that there is nothing all that special about these camera profiles.

How we found that? Well we just exchanged the camera model code from the A7 IV-files to the one from the previous A7 III-model and that worked fine. It is nothing different than we can do from inside of Photolab IF we have files Photolab allows us to open say a A7 III file. In that case I have no problem to open use a Canon R5-file or whatever I like.

I batch converted my A7 IV-files at that time with a common HEX-editor. Hope the A7 V-users won´t need that work around,

By the way, I just got a popup in Capture One telling me there is a new version with A7 V-profile inside.

It is indicated Here,

It still shows not supported when I try to add a raw file to use, and it is the latest version.

I bought this software expecting it to work, and it was okay with my a7iii then pulled the trigger on the a7v and the software is useless. If it does in fact take them six months to update the profiles, I’ll never purchase or recommend this product to anyone.

Support for the A7V is planned for February, only a few days left to wait.

Photolab 7.21 is out,but it only supports lossless compressed Raw.As a wildlife shooter, that´s very dissapointing

I tested PhotoLab 9.5.0.40. Raws shot in Compressed or Compressed (HQ) do not work.

I´ll hope they fix this, otherwise it´s useless for me.

This is also the case for Lightroom and Capture One.
The new RAW format seems complicated to decode.

LR has been able to open/edit the A7 V RAW files (Lossless Compressed only) since the day I got mine on Dec 24th.

I don’t see any announcement on their website, but PR 5.8 is out and supports Lossless Compressed RAW now.

@Marie Any idea when Pureraw 4.17 will be availabe for download? On “Supported Cameras and Lenses “ page it looks like it is already available, but I can see that still only version 4.16 can be downloaded.
