Show Masks does not work in PL8

I am trying to do some local adjustments in PL8.

  1. I am adding a mask tool, e.g. Control Point or Control Line
  2. When I do that the mask is immediately displayed in greyscale (or color) and there is no way to turn that off
  3. In the mask options overlay I can click on ‘Show cropped areas’ and change the mask color (Black & White vs color) but the ‘Show mask’ check box does not work - no matter how many times I try to click on it
  4. The ‘M’ key also does nothing

Weirdly enough both ‘Show mask’ check box and ‘M’ key seem to work fine on old images with adjustments already made with previous versions of PL.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug? I am on Windows.

that’s my problem too.
But the function is there if you use the defined mask for the first time.

my theorie: first define the mask (it’s shown) then use it (it’s gone).

But this behaviour is very different from my former PL6 version.
And normally i’m used to a button always having its function.

This mask behaviour is very annoying and not at all necessary.
