Scam - 15 characters

There will be lots of excuses, but once again, DXO conned us into paying for a software upgrade that is inferior.

I literally thought that something was wrong with my lens until I realised that pureraw4 gives better results. DXO ropes us into buying incremental upgrades with the discount, but the upgrade is worse. What happens next upgrade? Better than Pureraw5 - which would be the same as pureraw4?

I agree with stuck’s suggestion that you join the existing topic. FWIW, I don’t think we should expect any software to perform best at default settings. Yes, that would be ideal. And yes, it’s baffling that DxO changed the default settings without telling people. DxO has yet to openly explain what they’re thinking or if they released PureRAW 5 with mistakes in it. But many people are getting good results by adjusting the settings and creating presets to apply those settings as new defaults to their images.

So I paid for an ‘upgrade’ and now I have to mess with the settings to get back to what I had previously.

This is a serious stain on the reputation of PureRaw and DXO.

I’ve replied to this ‘I’m the victim’ post in other forums. You could have d/l the trial version and test it for your self. As many of us have done. And then you could have made your decision. I didn’t upgrade.

Nothing to do with being the victim so stick that where the sun doesn’t shine.

If you don’t upgrade this time, you lose the discount to upgrade next time.

And now people will be very weary of upgrading ahead of time. Let’s not forget that you could pre-order this upgrade for a discount. I will never be preordering or upgrading based on the faith of DXO’s brand in the future.

This was nothing but a scam. This software has offered almost nothing, but played with people’s FOMO.

I’m a newcomer to DxO software. I did my homework. I read the forum and the website and did a 30-day trial. I found that I liked the user interface, the workflow, and the results, so I bought PhotoLab, FilmPack, and ViewPoint. I have no regrets. I do not feel that I was scammed in any way.

With a little more preparation and thoughtfulness, I think that you could have avoided making a decision that seems to have made you very angry. DxO software, in my opinion, does not deserve your anger.

Well said! By someone who now has even less credibility.
The Trial was offered during the discount period. So your claim is untrue. And, I can upgrade now for the same price as the Pre-Order.

The software doesn’t, but the misleading marketing does.

How much is the discount price compared to the full price? What do I do if PR6 is much better? Oh, I have to pay the full price. So if I don’t upgrade, it is only worthwhile if I hold off until PR7. DXO know this, they have exploited this and they have sold everyone a product that has zero improvement over PR4.

Noise correction is the biggest selling point on the market. It is the very reason I came over to DXO and that is the same for most people here. They have leveraged that to sell a false product. There is nothing worthwhile in this product. They simply pumped out something to satisfy their yearly deadline even though it is nearly useless.

You can upgrade for 70?
