Please Add This Re-sizing Feature

I sometimes run into this issue with photo forums where they only allow a certain size photo to be posted. Easy enough to follow the 2,000px max, but in addition to this limit, they also want the image to be 2MB or less. It can take multiple tries to get an image both 2,000px AND 2MB or less. When I’m exporting the image, yes there is a “JPEG quality” slider, but nothing telling me whether I’ve achieved the 2MB limit.

My request is for this information to be available on the export screen.

Thank you!

This would be very handy!

You can use Irfanview (Windows) for this purpose (and many others), it’s free, when you resize there are 2 windows with the second one asking how many kB ou MB you want your file to fit.

Similar to the following feature request, but I like your idea to simply display the estimated export file size.

With Irfanview, the file size is not simply displayed, you choose it.

I’m on a MacBook Pro. If there is something like that for Mac users, great, but would still love this to be added to PhotoLab. Thanks!

I have voted your proposal. I too prefer using only one software.

It would definitely be worth having such an option in one application. At present, I sadly also occasionally have to use external programs for this specific purpose.

Since Facebook reduced its image limit to a hopeless 4mb, I’ve batch processed shots on my MacBook Pro with the Mac’s own Preview app.

I agree. I have the same problem every time I will publish an image or participate in a contest.
