PhotoLab v6.9 (Windows 10) Failure to export DeepPRIME or DeepPRIME XD

So even if this have changed, better to use studio drivers anyway. They are not exactly the same tho.

It depends. If all works fine, keep using the Studio drivers. But if you encounter strange bugs, try the latest Gaming Drivers (if the version is more recent, and the corresponding Studio version doesn’t exist yet): very often it fixes them even in professional use!

It has happened several times to me in the past (with CAD software, photo editing, and movie editing), and switching to Gaming Drivers always worked.

Now I use Gaming drivers both on my work machines AND on my personal one on which I also do gaming. Never a problem.

Indeed. It may be worth a try if there isn’t new studio driver in this specific case.

@Lucabeer And companies like epic (unreal engine) probably do the same for game drivers.
Even if there is only one core for both. It is (was ?) about optimisations.

Did you on current versions ?

I did during the Covid period, when I had plenty of time. The DLLs had the same binaries, except for the identifier strings (=pure text) in a couple of files only.

That goes, of course (I’ll never stress it enough), if the version number is the same between the two types of drivers.

Would be interesting to verify on current versions .Covid can have stopped or greatly slowed down this kind of collaboration. I was working on films preparations which suddenly stopped during beginning of covid (not the shoots, but the preparation, because there was no way for people to access to facilities).

All NVIDIA drivers provide full features and application support for top games and creative applications.

If you are a gamer who prioritizes day of launch support for the latest games, patches, and DLCs, choose Game Ready Drivers.

If you are a content creator who prioritizes stability and quality for creative workflows including video editing, animation, photography, graphic design, and livestreaming, choose Studio Drivers.

And there is a difference in file size, why ???

I have never, ever had a problem as a result of installing the latest Nvidea drivers when they become available. DxO strongly recommends keeping graphics card drivers up to date. Of course there Is the potential for a problem to occur, but as you point out it is very rare. While a large number of users here have had exporting issues fixed by installing the latest drivers. I don’t recall anyone having any issues caused by the installation of the latest drivers.

And even beyond that, in my experience updating to newer drivers can even improve processing times when there are no obvious problems. Many users here noticed that with some older cards around a year ago. Users of the cards like the GTX 1050ti, and a few other older cards, noticed a very significant improvement in processing speed for DeepPRIME and DeepPRIME XD after updating to a new driver.

Since I was already getting acceptable processing speeds given the age and ancient pedigree of my 1050ti, I rarely updated the driver since it was working as expected. I only decided to do so when someone reported a dramatic performance improvement. With the new driver installed, DeepPRIME processing accelerated from 21 secs per image to 14 secs, and XD from around 51 secs to 34 secs. s 33% improvement!. So, I now update my drivers as soon as they become available.

Hi Mark,

I agree in principle, but I let bread dough mature for 2 days, graphic card drivers for 2-4 weeks, DXO versions for 2-4 months.

I think the Studio drivers which are apparently not updated as frequently as the Game Ready drivers are an example of your more conservative approach.
