I have a system similar to yours and PL9.6 runs fine, just a little on the slow side compared to other peoples’.
- 32gb, i5-10400F CPU, GTX1660 Super 6GB, Driver 511.09 - OpenCL is enabled
Note that I am using a “very” old driver and, I believe, this is part of why it works. There are others who also have a GTX1660 GPU and they do not report any issues.

As others have mentioned, in the Nvidia control window, make sure your graphics card is selected and not just on auto. Also make sure that Photolab is the preferred software and not something else. Same in PL preferences.
During editing, I can have multiple AI presets (sky, people etc.) in an image and export without issue.
So for the St.Pancras image, M has no AI masks, then each has a single AI mask and the last one has all the previous AI masks.
