Photo management software

Anyone looking at Darktable should also be looking at Ansel…

To my knowledge, Digicam does not provide a way to link source-derivative relationships automatically or easily within the program (i.e. parent-child links) other than the edits done in Digicam itself. This was a few years ago, so things might have changed. Maintaining this relationship and being able to search both ways is valuable to me.
Photolab appears to write the “originalsourcefile” tag and/or the newer sourceUUID tags (forgot proper tag name) to the derivative images. I have not tried it, but seems possible to edit the Digicam database externally to create this relationship.

Agree 100%. Photo Supreme beats EVERYTHING I have tried (and that is a lot). Photo Mechanic Plus WAS the “Gold Standard” (still not as useful to me as Photo Supreme), but they broke their database function and aren’t planning to fix it.

Not sure if I have replied already, but I recently downloaded this great open source software from the Github respository, its free and works very well. It will create an archive catalog and you can point it to NAS, cloud servers, separate HDDs and it will catalogue them for future reference. Its called “LAP”

I’m sure you do know : it looks like this is your second response on this forum and you’ve been registered for 4 days.
