My Mac locks up when exporting images from PL8

My mac mini will either:

1. only export very slowly 1 low res image at a time
   or
2. lock up when I try to export a batch of 13 1-MB images.

All options for exporting to various sources are greyed out.

Thank you! For whatever reason, I can now see and access a list of export options when right clicking on the lower right export button. I tested Export to Lightroom and it worked.
