Would be nice in local adjustments if a colour picker was available in the HSL section.

Agreed, and there is already a feature request for this. No need to start another, just add votes and comments to the existing one. (Also under discussion already is how to work around the problem.)

Color Picker in HSL in Local Adjustments

If possible it would be useful to have the color picker available in the HSL palette in Local adjustments - would make skin tone adjustments easier, for sure.

While waiting for it, use the picker for the global HSL tool.

Not the most elegant way, but It should set LA HSL range accordingly.

I only do wildlife so being able to bump up colour on just parts the subject is handy.

Control points and playing around with the options and selectivity should narrow down your choices fairly effectively in a small area, I’d start there for now.
