Please allow users to fully specify the names of files, without the application automatically inserting fragments of the file name.

Totally agree. This is driving me nuts
my image sets look like this now
PICTURE.ARW
PICTURE.JPG
PICTURE.TIFF
PICTURE.XMP
PICTURE-ARW.DNG
WHY!!!
At the very least there should be a check box to enable or disable this function
