Force / replace a lens module to trick photo labs into working with adapters?

As far as I can tell, despite many requests over the years, there are no supported lens for the Megadap ETZ21 and no communicated plans to support any nor to allow customers to specify lens independently of camera bodies.

With that in mind, I have this perfectly good camera, producing stellar images, with accurately tagged EXIF data. PhotoLab has my lens for different camera bodies, but obviously won’t automatically select them, nor let me override the lens module.

Has anyone attempted to edit any of PhotoLabs surrounding config files or duplicated/renamed .caf files to trick it into picking the “wrong” lens module for a given EXIF?

The way to do it is to modify the Exif data In the raw file.

Lok for spoof in other threads, such as

When I had to do this, I mostly used DNG copies created with Adobe DNG Converter. Anyways, tricking PhotoLab to use a specific module might lead to images that look even worse than those of the original RAW files. Corrections depend on matched lens/body pairs. Using a different module existing for a different body can make things worse, unless the supported body has a similar sensor (brand and Megapixels).

Looks like you should’nt be in need of a correction module, so why bother?
