Black Friday Deal

When are the Black Friday deals going to start? I usually upgrade when they run the special and it allows the new version to get a few updates. Anyone else patiently waiting for the sale to start?

Usually this starts a week before Black Friday.

Yep! (Text added as post must be at least 20 chars!)

Do read up on the state of PhotoLab 9 currently (compatibility and performance issues). Try the trial if you can and haven’t already.

Black Friday should bring some better prices but the latest product aren’t all smooth sailing for everybody.

BF is November 28th, 2025

You wouldn’t know, though, given how early ā€œBlack Fridayā€ deals are put out by a lot of companies

I’ve seen some start theirs in October!

Can someone from DXO give us an official answer. I’d like to know what week it is so I don’t miss it.

Last year they posted the notification on X.com

If you are on that platform then perhaps give them a follow so you’ll see the announcements.

There were two last year, one on Black Friday and another on Cyber Monday.

Their X profile is https://x.com/DxOLabs

You won’t get that here - - This is the DxO USER Forum … DxO very rarely comment.

Last year it startet at monday before the black-friday:

so I think this year it starts at moday (24.11.)

I have a job and pay bills, here’s the AI-generated short:

Short Summary

DxO’s 2024 Black Friday sale started Friday, November 22 and ran until December 2, with discounts up to 50% on FilmPack 7 and up to 33% off flagship photo editing suites like PhotoLab and Nik Collection. Deal dates and discount sizes are likely to be similar in 2025, with the biggest savings usually reserved for new licenses rather than upgrades. (Btw, the same start day this year falls on Friday, November 21)

Full Summary - NOTE: It says that only new customers get the 50% off…I don’t think that’s accurate.

  • DxO’s Black Friday sale in 2024 ran from November 22 through December 2, offering up to 50% off certain products. Typical DxO flagship products like PhotoLab 8, Nik Collection 7, PureRAW 4, FilmPack 7, and ViewPoint 5 received the largest advertised discounts, with FilmPack 7 showing a notable 50% cut for new customers ($69.99 from $139.99). Most other major products received discounts ranging from 20% to just over 30%, with maximums for new purchases generally higher than for upgrades.

Prediction for 2025

  • Based on recent trends and forum speculation, DxO will likely repeat its Black Friday sale period in late November through early December 2025, again offering their biggest discounts of the year on flagship products. The maximum discount is historically 50% on selected items (typically FilmPack), but main products like PhotoLab, PureRAW, and Nik Collection are likely to see around 25–33% off for new purchases, with upgrade prices discounted less aggressively.

Which Product Gets 50% Off?

  • DxO FilmPack 7: 50% off for new customers ($69.99 from $139.99)

Max Discount for Flagship Products

  • Flagship main products such as PhotoLab 8, Nik Collection 7, PureRAW 4 generally see maximum discounts of 30–33% off for new licenses; upgrade discounts are lower, typically about 10–20%.

I do the same. I take the ā€˜free’ trial about a month before Black Friday then upgrade after the discount as I have been really annoyed in the past, taking upgrades when they are first released then seeing the discount a few weeks later.

Incidentally, the main dxo.com website is currently down for maintenance.

I doubt a new version of anything is about to drop, so it’s likely they’re about to put the Black Friday deals up.

Any other problems as well?
I’m unable to log in for my license management - I get a Server error and I cannot get an email sent for password reset.

So there must be a lot of work done back end.

Dxo.com is up and deals now available if you haven’t already noticed. :grinning:

I don’t know when it was posted, but it’s available today (Nov 18, 2025). For users of DxO PL 7 or 8, the upgrade price is $99.99, down from the prior list price of $119.99 (20%). I had a very positive experience with the trial version, but I don’t think the new features are worth the price, since I’m currently quite happy with PL 8.10.0. Of course, this requires prior comfort with the control-point/control-line masking system, which PL 9 is intended to improve on. Perhaps if I was using PL 7, I might be more tempted, but I’m happy to wait another year before reassessing.

I was looking at upgrading from PL 5 to PL 9 and Nik 6 to Nik 8, and was hoping for a bundle, so I took a screenshot of the bundles on the weekend to compare the BF deals. Sadly, no bundle deals, and the BF deals aren’t very compelling. I remember I got PL 5 and FP 6 at a really great deal price on a BF several years ago. Was hoping for something similar this time around.

Unfortunately, there is no upgrade path from 5 to 9, which is standard practice for DxO (just two steps for the 20% discount, so only PL 7 and 8 qualify). I was in fact perfectly happy with PL 5, but when it stopped working, I was told that DxO had stopped new Mac OS support after only 3 years, which struck me as a bit cheap. So I had to upgrade to PL 8 at full price, which partially explains my reluctance to upgrade again just a year later.

I only see blackfriday deals on full ersions but no offers on upgrades.
I won’t bother in that case
