Auto Masking & Subject Detection

I’ve been using PhotoLab for quite a while now, and I have to say—it’s an incredible photo editing solution. It’s consistently been my go-to software for everything from basic adjustments to more advanced editing tasks. The interface is intuitive, the editing tools are powerful, and the overall performance is excellent. It really strikes a great balance between professional-grade features and user-friendly design, which is something I truly appreciate.

That said, one area where I believe there’s room for improvement is in subject and masking detection. Compared to some of the other leading photo editors on the market, PhotoLab seems to be a bit behind when it comes to automatic subject recognition and masking precision. Whether it’s selecting a person, background, or an object in the frame, the current tools often require a lot of manual tweaking to get the desired result. It might be that the tools just aren’t quite as advanced yet, or perhaps my own masking skills need more refinement—but either way, it feels like a bit of a struggle.

I’m really hoping this is something that the development team is planning to address in upcoming releases. Having more accurate, intelligent auto-masking and subject detection would be a game-changer for users like me who want to work more efficiently and creatively without having to spend too much time refining selections by hand.

Despite this, I still find PhotoLab to be a fantastic application overall, and I look forward to seeing how it continues to evolve. Thank you for all the great work so far—and please consider making smarter masking a priority in future updates!
