Add pre define mask

I have the latest Photolab 9 all updated, when selecting Local adjustments, they all work well, but click on the predefined dropdown, select any subject, the process box builds, then says no whatever selected ) found followed by a message, Internal error, correction failed to execute stage. Any ideas please.

Welcome to the world of DxO Colin!

This has been a problem for many people since the initial release of PL9 with no indication that DxO is even working on the issue. I have similar issues with predefined AI masks.

It appears that if you have a GPU with less than 12Gb RAM you will have problems.

You do not actually need the predefined AI masks as you can create masks in other ways such as just clicking on subjects or dragging a box around subjects.

Hi, Colin. What is your graphics processor? Is it an nVidia video card in a Windows PC, and does it have a lot of on-board memory? Are your video drivers up-to-date?

Also, check whether or not the problems described in this post might be affecting you:

Hi Keith. Yes, I use all the local adjustments successfully, including the AI mask, it is just the predefined mask the causes the issue. As you state, I had to double my RAM to 16Gb after the AI mask was added, it was worth the trouble as i find the AI mask very useful. Thanks Colin.

Hi, thanks for the response. I have a windows 11 pc and had trouble immediately the AI mask was introduced, I updated the BIOS and NVIDIA driver from the ASUS site, this had no effect, so I doubled the RAM to 16Gb, all works well, including the brilliant AI mask, providing I do not click on the predefined area tab, if I do it searches and displays, no sky is detected, then a flag saying an internal error has occurred. The only way to get rid of the message is to shut the programme and start again. It’s not a massive problem, but it would be useful if it can be solved. Thanks Colin.

Check the requirements. Your GPU might be less than what is required.
