I just started using Photolab 8 and I have a brand new Fujifilm XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II. Mind the “II”: it’s the second iteration of the venerable XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR. The new “mark II” lens isn’t yet supported by Photolab, the old one is.
However now when I open a folder with pics taken by this new lens, Photolab proposes me to download the profile for the “old” lens, the mark I version. It seems confused and seems to think this is the same lens as the old one.
Is there a way to use the built-in lens correction profile of this lens itself (the way Lightroom does it) rather than the Photolab module for the old mark I lens?
No, you can’t use the built-in correction profile with PhotoLab. But what PhotoLab is doing in your case - offering the older version I lens profile - is usually very helpful, as optical formulae don’t usually change when a lens is revised - just cosmetics, coatings, mechanics… I’ve had two Mark II lenses that were never supported in PhotoLab because of this, so just used the Mark I correction profiles which PhotoLab correctly offered to me.
In your case, did the lens optical properties change in the version II release?
