With the latest Pure RAW 6 update (on 8-17-2026), program will no longer initialize?

… neither versions 6.5x nor 6.6.0.1.1 start properly on my machine (windows 10)

I fiddled bit around and it seems there are some tricky depencies here. The last versions of PureRAW accesses some AI-functionalities via the windows App SDK.

This App SDK can be used and accessed either system-wide (e.g. as a kind of shared component of windows) or as an inbuilt component of a software. The first case is the default and saves memory but requires the installed App SDK (provided freely by Microsoft).

PureRaw obviously requires that. If this SDK is not installed PureRAW won’t start (that’s checked on initialisation apparently) and aborts. But - and that’s the bumper: unfortunately this SDK can get installed only on a Windows 11 machine properly. It’s installation requires (amongst others) a “supported system” which is not the case for Win10 anymore. Even older versions of this App SDK fail for that reason.

A workaround could be the integration of this App SDK within PureRAW - e.g. as an inbuilt module. This is upon DxO. “Disadvantage”: the install-files get larger.
