Why the Big Brother?

I work on location and suddenly confronted with a count down telling me DXO is going to cut me off for not going online. I am down to 1. I resent DXO foisting a start up program using my ram to watch dog that I have not stolen it. Plus it isn’t working. I am on wifi now and it is still counting down and about to cut me off.

If it cuts me off, I am done with DXO because I do not have the ram to spare to run this constantly in the background and not function correctly. How do I tell this jerk watchdog that I am a legal user?

You don’t have to run it constantly in the background. Logging in once within every 37 days with an internet connection will prevent this problem from occurring. The problem arises when you have not logged on with an internet connection for over 37 days. Whenever you do log on with an internet connection you’ll be good for the next 37 days even if you have been temporarily locked out . Logging in with a connection will immediately fix the problem. I am not suggesting that this is a good thing. I am merely telling you how it works.

It’s 5 days. Not 37 days. But thanks for the reply!

What do you mean by 5 days? The duration for using PhotoLab without an internet connection is 37 days before you are temporarily locked out. Under what circumstances are you seeing 5 days? Perhaps we’re talking about two different things. Are you using a VPN?

This isn’t try. Five days. To just work. Not installing. Not using new modules. Just to process images. It cuts me off today and I am on the internet wishing the little widget would function. The software meant to watchdog for you isn’t working DXO. I am about to say goodbye for good. Your choice not mine.

I’m not on a VPN. I am using a public wifi though. Maybe DXO doesn’t like it. I am typing this on the public wifi. It’s working. There’s nothing wrong with it. DXO just doesn’t see it. I am at day zero now about about to have to find other software to work with. DXO massive fail. You literally are treating me like a criminal and all I did was buy your software. I sure wish I could get my money back. I screen shotted the little ugly popup but doesn’t look like images are allowed here.

Update:
It says I am a new user here on the forum now though I have been here for several months. I am now called new user on my first day by the forum software therefor not allowed to post anything else.

They don’t want me to speak about this apparently.

But I can edit this older post to say bye bye DXO your software has shut me out and treated me like I am a criminal. I can’t boot it to work on my images. You failed. You are a terrible company.

Second update:
You have not jumped through the hoops I have just trying to post here. I tell the truth and you call me paranoid? I do not need anymore help thanks.

First, do not be paranoid. They are not purposely trying to keep you from speaking out about this issue. Secondly, to my knowledge you are the only person who has reported a problem of this type here. While I accept the fact that you’re having a serious issue, it is probably easily fixed. Unfortunately without standing next to you and seeing what’s going on it’s difficult for me to make a judgment.

To assist you we will need to come up with some definitive questions to ask you which may give us the feedback required to resolve this issue.

Please note that this is a user forum. If you want (and imo, you should) get in touch with DxO support, use the ticketing system. It can take a while until you get a response, but you’ll get contacted by a person, not a chatbot.

Super frustrating for those “ in the field” and/or offline - maybe DXO can consider an exemption program.
