When can we expect Android (Raw) DNG support now you support iPhone ProRaw?

I see you now you support iPhone ProRaw in PL9, it’s taken quite a while.
Is support for Android (raw) DNG format going to be included soon?
After all, Android has ~75% of world market share!

Hi,

Just to add a related question to this post…

The DPL9 announcement says :

iPhone and iPad image support:
Edit HEIC, HEIF, and Pro RAW from iOS devices

I’m wondering what this statement really means. My Samsung 25+ is also able to create HEIC files. Is DPL 9 able to process these files ? Sorry, I still have to install this new version in order to test.

I think it means all heic files, just like jpg. In the Release notes it says there is currently a problem reading the gps tag properly from Samsung heic files, so that must mean it can read the image.

I made a test with an HEIC file directly coming from my Samsung S25+. No problem, apparently.

There are already open feature requests for Android DNG support. Why do we need another? It’s repetition, not accumulation. Just post to the oldest request with the most votes and that will bump the topic and give it the attention you desire.

If you mean single-frame RAW DNG captures (un-demosaiced), I would venture never. These are not supported for the iPhone Pro in PL9 either. If multi-frame, computational captures, analogous to Apple ProRaw, with plenty of instructional metadata, then maybe, why not? Can’t be that hard to implement. As @Egregious recommends though, resurrect the older post and vote!

I started down that vein, found an FR labelled “inbacklog” but on opening it says “Closed”. I gave up at that point wondering how many other contradictory indications I would have to unveil. I’ve worked in IT for many years and believe all FRs should be triaged and merged into the dev teams own unique list, which means my FR will be merged with similar and therefore still count. I’ll leave to chance that DxO are professional and my assumptions are correct. I don’t have the time or inclination to sift thru and decipher the other FRs. Thanks for your advice anyways.

I have a 22ultra and use it with a number of other programs with HEIF and non of them have any problems getting the location from the images.
