What does Film Pack add to PhotoLab?

I am not really interested in recreating film. But when I tried the trial I noticed that FilmPack added quite a lot of features to PhotoLab. The thing is that now my trial has expired and I can’t remember what, exactly was added. I have:

  • luminosity masks
  • fine contrast
  • borders
  • vignettes

Is there anything else?

The other question; is this really worth having? I think all of the above can be found in ColorEfEx - which just means one small export operation so I am not sure if it is worth buying FilmPack just to save on this.

Thanks

IF you already have CEP and you haven’t missed FP yet
(it looks like otherwise you wouldn’t ask) … well then NO.

those 3 screenshots… they’re also all part of nik collection, always been except dxo added on top of it, PL features.

correct, also within silver efex.

For me, it was the Fine Contrast sliders that made FP a worthwhile investment. Having said that I bought FP before DxO added the luminosity mask feature to FP but I’ve not upgraded FP to gain that feature. The price hike to FP has made it not cost effective for me.

Thanks all. It looks like (fine contrast aside? - though there are a lot of contrast options in ColorEfEx) - the main reason to buy FP for PL would simply be convenience. So, unless I win the lottery I think I’ll try to live without it.

Providing fine contrast, split toning etc. in Film pack instead of “Elite” is an annoying management decision by DxO. IMNSHO, these are functions not related to “Film”.

yes i agree with you, buying a pack of “presets” to get a few functions that should already be part of a photo software is no sense to me.
