Scenario: A real time saving for me when shooting an event would be to be able to swap SD cards, throw it into my machine and know that DXO will process it from a given folder, Lightroom can already monitor the DXO output folder to auto import, and I seamlessly have my photos then ready for review and editing.
Feature Request: Implementation of a user-specific watched folder for DXO. Any file in that location will automatically be processed with the last specified DXO settings.
Careful with that one. If processing were done straight from the card, you risk loosing the original RAW files.
Proposed Autoprocessing
look for a folder DCIM on an external drive
copy image files to a predefined target folder (plus one for backup?)
tell DxO software to index the target folder (if necessary or wanted) and apply defaults.
The copy step can be more or less refined, depending on subfolders on the card or intended target folder structure (e.g. flat vs. by date)…
As DxO currently rides on the “No Import Needed” horse, an explicit import function could help to automate things as you propose. Whether this paradigm change will take place or not, I won’t say.
Note that I’m also thinking of other DxO Software like e.g. PhotoLab. Other DxO software could also profit from an autoprocessing feature.
