it would be useful to see the calibration result values Delta E after applying the correction with a colour checker. Darktable has it and it is free so I can switch to it only for this specific task, but it would be great if DXO had it too.
And then people who are not able to do a good target shot / and that will be a majority / will get upset with “big” deltas ( also vs some God-knows-from-where procured measurements of unknown target samples ) … why create a PITA when the tool is not aimed for reproduction ? you want more precision - use more precise tools
The data itself will not cause such kind of discomfort in my opinion, laypersons don’t know what a good delta value would be, but professionals would benefit to be able to read that value and they will know how to fix eventual problems, if this worries you anyway it could also be an optional value to activate only in case of need.
but it is not about you - it is about what DxO thinks will be the flak from users… simply not worth the effort AND the trouble… and not the intended goal of the tool ( which is for simple minded people to like what they eye on their monitors )
“professionals” do not use a primitive profile creation tool in DxO … they do it right using the whole bunch of tools intended for “professional” profile creation
Are you DxO so you are allowed to speak for them ?
If yes, unhide your profile and be clear. If no avoid to talk in their name !!!
WHO ARE YOU ?
