Before I buy VP5 I want to be sure that 6 is not around the corner in the next months. I know this is a users forum, but what is the release cycle of ViewPoint!? On the website it is displayed with a sign saying: “New”, but I know it is from 2024. Any info is much appreciated!

Generally the releases of VP and FP are alternated 1 year out of 2.
FP7 was released in November 2023 and VP5 in October 2024 so if respected, we should have FP8 on September or October 2025 and VP6 in 2026.

My understanding is that ViewPoint (and FilmPack) have followed a two year update cycle, with the release date being around the same time as the (annual) PhotoLab update, so Sept / Oct time of year. If that’s correct then since VP5 came out last autumn, VP6 is not expected until Sept / Oct 2026.
Of course, the timing of new releases is entirely up to DxO and no one here will get any advance warning.
