I have my PL6 folders (listed in thread title) in a non-default location. When I upgrade to PL8, will it be able to use the data in those folders or do I need to create new folders and start from scratch?

Afaik, there is no “non-standard” location. I always had my pictures in “my” partitions & folders and there was never a problem with them not being recognized
… but heh, always in the computer and never “out there” on an external hard drive or something similar. This means that I create backups on external media, but only edit on the machine.
