I purchased the VP 5 as part of the recent DXO bundle offer. The program installation included a folder of VP sample files in .jpg format.
I’d like to learn more about using the tools in VP using the supplied files. For example, there is a file called 01-ReShape-Volume-Deformation-Tutorial-Martijn_Kort.jpg in the folder.
Does anyone know where I can find instructions or tutorials that explain the use of the various VP features using these sample files?
To add to my confusion, when I open a sample file in VP5 and PL8, neither program recognizes the embedded camera or focal length data in the file. PL8 prompted me to download the camera/lens correction modules from DXO. I did that, but neither program makes use of this correction information on the sample .jpg files.
Is there any way I can get the DXO software to read and correct the image based on the EXIF camera data embedded in the supplied sample files? I am using macOS.
Is this option not available for jpg files because the camera may be set to do some real-time corrections when it renders a jpg? My Canon R6 lets me decide if the camera will do any jpg lens corrections in the menu settings. It would be nice to force the DXO corrections based on the exif data when I am not making any in-camera lens/camera corrections to a jpg image.
