I have been using Photoshop and lightroom until now, purchased Photolab8. normally I am quite sane and able to use these programs- until now. I have read all the information and videos on how it’s done but I am obviously doing something very wrong. Yes my photos appear on the side bar then it goes wrong on my Windows 11 . Totally new to the program and keep getting messages No Images Selected and/or No image in this folder meets your filtering Criteria,Please help!!!
Hi,
I guess you need to read the documentation or a good tutorial. Try this one :
https://tutodxo.com/en/home-2/ (english and french)
First, make sure you are looking at a folder that contains photos. PL shows your folder hierarchy on the left - it should look the same as in Windows explorer. PL may initially default to displaying a folder which, in your case, doesnt contain photos. Just navigate to the correct folder.
Once in the right place, if photos still dont appear, check that you havent got an active filter applied. Make sure you are in photo library mode, then look for the little filter icon, lower left on your screen. Deselect any filters.
HTH, cheers
It may be the case that you have a filter set that you’re not aware of (?)
- Click on the “Reset” button at the top of the filter list to clear all filters.
Could it be that a filter is active in the image browser?
The image browser could also be hidden or appear somewhat hidden on a second screen.
With CTRL F9 (Windows) the image browser can be shown or hidden.
There you can filter what is displayed in the selection also for later editing
Thank you to all the members who answered my call for help! You were correct it was indeed a filter that was the problem, once I followed your analysis and turned the filter off I was able to see the light at last, again thank you,
Yaaayyy!!! It’s very difficult when you get an answer but don’t yet know all the places where the error can occur.
BTW, it might be helpful to move the little divider from the bottom of the Library tab…
… to the top…
That way you get to be able to browse the whole folder instead of one image plus a filmstrip.
Then you simply double-click on any image in the Library tab to switch to editing it in the Customise tab…
Interesting idea, I’m giving this a try. Feels weird at first but since I get a small filmstrip at the bottom of Customise anyway, it makes sense. Cheers.
