Thinking about changing from Windows 11 to a MAC. Can someone suggest a reasonably priced MAC with an 18” screen? Can I upgrade to the Mac software at upgrade time?
Should be no problem, provided you can find Mac versions of your favorite software.
As long as you don’t want a laptop, go for a Mac Mini and choose your own screen. Apple only do 27".

I’d go for at least 32gig of RAM.
Might get an M4 Mac Mini for a “good” price at the moment…

Does not exist unless you bring your own monitor.
Go for more RAM instead of more cores. Drive space is expensive, but it helps to keep the SSD healthy. Check reviews. Low drive space Macs often come with lower drive performance than the next model with bigger drive(s). iMacs have 24in screens and the best quality/price ratio imo.
CAUTION: PhotoLab’s DBs from Mac and Win versions are different and I doubt that PL on Mac can be restored from a backup of a DB of PL on Win. Moreover, the .dop files are only partially compatible between Mac and Win. Migrating might therefore come with losses.
