The physics of a dive

We drove about 500 km to visit my son and his partner for Christmas. We stay in a hotel by a lake and often walk down to the lake front and check out the bird life.

I was quite pleased with this golden hour shot of a Weweia (New Zealand Dabchick) that was diving for food (they eat mostly aquatic insects).

There’s actually not a lot of editing on this. Just some basic detail treatment of the bird and colour treatment on the water, including brightening the foreground.
