I would like to be able to fine tune adjustments using a midi controller like the Stream Deck + or Tour Box. If this is already doable please let me know how! Ideally I want to be able to choose each slider and adjust them individually.
I use a Stream Deck with PhotoLab on my Mac. I use a third party tool (Better Touch Tool) but I think the same approach works with the standard Stream Deck software.
All I do is have the Stream Deck send a keypress to the application.
I should probably re-evaluate it in light of PL9, but the most-used keys for me are Copy Adjustments and Paste Selected Adjustments. They’re a bit of a handful on the keyboard, so the Stream Deck button makes it considerably easier.
I also use it for that, and for the crop tool etc, but to be clear I want something more than just being able to set hotkeys! I want to be able to both select, and fine tune sliders using the stream deck, and knobs therein.
Like Jake, im really interested in using external devices (in my case from Xencelab) to make adjustments. For me it would sufficient, if each control could be activated by a hotkey.
The basic requirement for any kind of operation is the software needs to expose the controls to either basic automation (such as keyboard shortcuts) or some kind of deeper automation, like an AppleScript dictionary on Mac. I’m not sure if Windows even has anything like that.
Looking at PhotoLab, I don’t see that the former will be possible, as the only way I can find to alter a slider is to first click in the box showing the numerical value and then use up and down arrows. That is utterly impractical for what you want.
So you need DxO to provide something more.
For years there have been feature requests to support customization or at least a wider selection of keyboard shortcuts. But nothing.
There isn’t even a key that always advances to the next image.
Maybe PL10 next year.
Hence my request! Hopefully if enough folks want it they will!
