Strange issue with 9.1

Hello, at first I thought it was me because I selected multiple images, but that’s not the case:
40 RAW files and their corresponding JPG files in one folder.
One RAW file receives a mask, and suddenly (I don’t know what I did before), this mask is applied to all images, including the JPG files.
I deleted the entire folder and restored a backup from the previous day (so I didn’t lose anything). But the mask remains on all images, even though there are only six DOP files.
I uninstalled 9.1 and installed 9.02, and now the RAW files are correct, but the JPG files retain this mask.
Really strange, horst

p.s.: Meanwhile I have updated the graphics driver, but the problem persists.

It appears that you had selected all the files when you started editing. That would mean the edits were applied to all the files. Easy enough to do accidently.

A relatively easy fix would be to delete all the .dop files in that folder except for the one for the file you intended to edit.

Good morning, in the beginning I thought so too, but, with 40 jpg plus 40 raw, everyone with a mask applied and some local adjustments but only 6 dop files.
after deleting the dop files the sitiuation is the same.
After restoring a backup the situation is the same
After uninstall of 9.1 and installing 9.0.2 and restoring the backup with 6 dop files, the raw images are as intendet, but all the jpg have that mask and correction - without individual dop files.

Deleting or editing DOP files alone isn’t enough. You need to delete the database as well, otherwise the DOPs are updated automatically from there.

Ok, thank you, but how to do that?
Am I not loosing all the other Data from all the other images?

Or you can put your files in a new folder ant database entries will not apply to these new images, and you’ll keep corrections for other images.

Done!

  • However, it seems that the DOP files are worthless without the corresponding entries in the database: The six modified images are native despite the DOP files being present (not so bad).
  • Is there a way to compact the database so I can change the folder name back to the primary one without the old problem recurring?

Once you have your “test images” in a new folder that now display correctly in PL, leave PL running and rename the folder (in PL) to its previous name.

Just try it out and see if it works.

No, doesn’t work. The Database keeps the old folder in mind.
To come to an end, I deleted the mask in the jpg files, now it seems to be fine again.
horst - and thank you all

  • but nevertheless, it is strange

What I’ve done so far to troubleshoot…

After closing PL, I copied the images and their associated DOP files to a new folder, so the folder and images are now new in PL. Once they were working normally again in PL, I deleted the faulty folder and images in PL to remove the storage location from the database.

Later, I moved the files back in PL. I don’t know if that actually fixed the database, but as long as it seems to work…
