I caught this Sparrowhawk through my kitchen window visiting my garden to have a spot of lunch, having selected a Pidgeon from the menu. By the time I saw it, it had pretty much devoured all of its prey, bones and all. From its colour and markings it could be either a juvenile or a female, not sure which.
I’m not sure how far it got, but I went out to investigate after it had flown away and… the pigeon also flew up and over the house (trailing blood as it went!).
(This was not edited with PhotoLab mind you - a very old picture from 2016).
