Still not HQ or c ompressed raw support for the Sony a7v. Seems awfully late but so was Adobe LR. Kind of maddening with the reduction in frames per second before buffer is full with the other raw formats.

Just tried today, 3/20/26 and the buffer was much more usable with compressed raw BUT NOOOO support in pureraw 6.0.1
Doesn’t make me want to by new or more dxo software products.
don’t u realize how much this negates the real reason for upgrading a7rv to a7v??? It is for the electronic 30 fps shutter if you shoot BIF. the buffer lasts onl y a few shots with lossless compressed but a LOT longer with the compressed raw.
I am NOT going to buy Photolab just to get a little raw support for my sony a7v (which is an awesome camera for birds). I don’t care about the details which end up in NO, we don’t support you in PureRaw 6. I will just stick with Lightroom denoise or topaz studio ai. Wow, way to lose a whole lot of customers, dxo.
Maybe I will change my mind on Photolab in the future but not for a couple years. Added bony, Less upgrade fees.
So to sum up, it looks like you could shoot lossless RAW but fill your buffer quicker, then edit in whatever you want - but you don’t want to do that because you’re relying on your buffer to get shots.
You could learn to anticipate shots better?
If you don’t want to buy software that doesn’t currently support your specific need, that’s fine. I’m not sure why it needs multiple threads bumped from a month ago.
First of all it answers problems with cRAW, mRAW anssRAW, wich are smaller image sizes but not different compresion rats.
In the A7V we get only 3 differently comressed RAW files - none of the uncompresed.
Also Nikon an d Canon process their RAW a litte - so why shoudn`t it be a RAW aymore, when it is a litte worked over by the manufacturer in the camera?
By theway the Sony A7V does not deliver uncompressed RAWs at all.
So when DXO is not willing to integrate “compressed” and “compressed(HQ”) as offered in the A7V it is more or less useless for anyone shooting fast moving targets, because in full RAW you get about 1,5 seconds of buffer in compressed nearly 5.5 sec (compressed HQ about 3,2 sec)!!!
So DXO is massively limiting the camera options
I shot rugby with 20 fps to weeks ago with a borrowed A7V, wich was fine but only the jpgs worked - the compressed RAW were NOT readable.
So please get that fixed- I use DXO since many years and was always contend, but with this limitation i will have to consider a different Company`s product.
Yes, FINEUS, you could anticipate birds taking off a.s.o. - maybe that`s is certainly the reason why most of the Pro cameras nowadays offer pre capture - really ?
And if my camera supports different RAW types to get as much frames as possible before the buffer is full, why should we accept, that we cannot use that feature when working with DXO.
Actually there’s three: anticipating your subject better is a fine skill to have and one that photographers have developed long before pre-capture came along to help.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a useful feature and helps us get more “keepers”. I’m in favour of it existing.
But the facts are the facts, so the three options (mine, and the two you’ve put forward) are, indeed, “it”.

None that I know for losslessly compressed raws (or uncompressed, if supported). What exactly do you mean by that?

OK, just joking, but small A7V buffer looks like the real issue here, if true.
Sony raw lossy compression is widely known for producing strange artifacts, especially in the shadows, while its HQ version is yet to go through enough field tests. It also seems that Sony HQ compression algorithm wasn’t fully reverse–engineered yet, but maybe I’m wrong (didn’t follow that).
DxO DeepPRIME supports some lossy raw compressions, but only if they don’t destroy the “noise model”. For most camera makers, lossless compression algorithm is Huffman, while lossy compression applies a tone curve mapping, say mapping 16,000 values into 1000 values space, before feeding the result to Huffman. This mapping is nearly an identity for low input values, so the noise, being mostly in shadows, is “well preserved”, thus allowing for any advanced denoising algorithms to work well (although you may get some posterization in highlights, depending on editing). AFAIK, standard Sony raw lossy compression tries to compress also the shadows too much, thus making the output unusable for any advanced denoising. There were some good and bad discussions about it in DPR.
That said, I don’t know if Sony “HQ raw compression” is good enough for DxO algorithms to apply. Also decoding may be a patent issue, maybe something else. Anyway, for more than 20 years I’ve been shooting losslessly compressed 14-bit raws (16-bit for some MF) and never had compatibility problems. We will have to wait some time before more is known about Sony HQ compression.
Sony’s lossy compressed RAW files are supported on other Sony camera models, for example the Sony a7cii and the Sony a7cr. If those are good enough for DxO, then the a7v compressed RAW files should be even better, because they are higher quality.
It’s ridiculous that we still don’t have support for these file formats, 6 months after release, on one of the most successful cameras of 2026.
Currently I have to use the extra step of converting the compressed a7v ARW files to DNG with Adobe DNG converter, and then denoised them in DxO. Denoised files look great.
DxO Labs, please add native support for the a7v compressed RAWs.
