Sometimes you just have to wait

Just over two years ago, the main route through St-Michel-en-Grève was closed for major road works. This meant that the main D786 which connects Plestin-les-Grèves to Lannion was blocked and, thus a diversion had to be found via back roads and byways.

We found a somewhat circuitous, but relatively short, route, which passed a small wood on a hill, which we thought had photographic possibilities. Of course, finding the right time of day, weather and view point wasn’t easy and, even then, some of the trees were damaged in one of the winter’s storms.

Anyhow, after at least two years, we finally looked up at the sky over our house today and realised it might be just as good as it was likely to get. So we jumped in the car and went to our chosen view point.

I think our patience was rewarded

Sorry. But it’s just got to be black and white.

Good picture and good processing!

Sometimes stripping away the color really helps emphasize the lighting and the mood of the wait. It gives it a much more timeless feel.

On Mondays I like B&W more, on Tuesdays I prefer the color version…

And on Wednesdays? This maybe?

:winking_face_with_tongue:

Could be.
Thought of something like this for Thursdays, to rework that is  :

To @stuck and @Wlodek , can I just say one thing?

But, don’t forget…
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.”

Don’t worry, by Thursday it will be gone

I love the B&W version. It also reminded me of an image I took with similar subject matter. This image was edited in PS9 and then Silver Efex. The sky is overdone (red filter) and I’ll back off a bit when I get around to it. Joanna, I like yours better. More subtle and trees better defined than mine.
