I’ve no Lens Softness Tool visible in my DXOP8
I’ve check for lens/body support on the DXO website, it’s listed
Any tips?
Also, when trying with Unsharp Mask nothing is happening
Thanks in advance

… but is it active or do you have a conflict where Photolab can´t decide which lensprofile to use. Check the symbol om the I think upper right corner of every tumbnail frame.
If Lens Correction is missing it usually is because there is a no active lens profile.
If you have conflict you will probably have to resolve it manually.
Set the preview to at least 75%.
.
And as @Stenis already mentioned, a lens profile must be active.
The installed (and active) modules are displayed and marked “Yes” to indicate that they can be removed if they are not in use.
In other words, the currently selected folder does not contain any images taken with these camera-lens combinations. In fact, it says, “It does not contain any image” (read: no image that PL could open).
Do you own (or have you ever owned) all of these camera-lens combinations? Otherwise, uninstall the ones that don’t apply.
And please check the crossed-out eye icon at the (renamed) “Lens Sharpness Optimizer”. It shows that my preview was set below 75% when I took the screenshot… and the tool’s effect wasn’t applied to the preview.
Thanks very much for your reply
I have made some progress on this front due to both of your suggestions so thanks for that
Otherwise, I’m struggling a little bit to understand your instructions
I did click on the top right corner of the images, where there was a question mark and selected a specific lens (essentially there’s a second very similar name, so ambiguity in lens was reported)
This resolved, meant there’s now a tick in the top right corner and the Lens Sharpness tool is now visible
I’ve made some adjustments, which it has to be said are very subtle
Is there another tool that allows stronger adjustments? Similar to that in Lightroom. Also, does the same feature of making adjustments while holding down Alt key to show a mask preview, exist in DXOP8?
Many thanks again. Esp for speedy response
There are adjustment sliders associated with the Lens Sharpness tool;
See checkbox to show/hide the mask … plus other options.
May I suggest to have a look e.g. for this video

and …
→ DxO PhotoLab – Help center
→ DxO PhotoLab 8 User Guide
→ manual download
.
Since DxO introduced Local Adjustments in PhotoLab you can access the Mask (which in fact is the selection) also with the hotkey M (= in Windows).
The hotkey < ALT > (= in Windows), for example, is used to protect an area
(= subtract it from the mask/selection).
.
Don’t forget to set the preview to at least 75%
