I sometimes use exiftool to change camera model so that I can trick PL to load the file. If this is how you change your camera model then there is a very easy and simple way to make changes.
Copy exiftool.exe to the desktop and rename it to something like this:
exiftool(-overwrite_original -Model=OP-041).exe
Put your exiftool parameter withing the parentheses.
To use it simply drag and drop your file(s) onto this icon on your desktop and exiftool will do whatever you put between the parenthese.
To rub it in that its just being lucky anyone can get the format to work they have again got back tom say ''the HEIC format itself is supported, the specific camera or smartphone model must also be compatible with our software, as outlined on the following webpage:
Actually, HEIC is very similar to DNG in that it is a container format that can contain all sorts of data. They can contain multiple images, video, audio and even text.
They are diffrent DNG doent have camera corrections built in HEIC does its the as jpeg but smaller files, with the Samsung case 10 not 8 bit. Its the format being supported but with DNG itv would be the camers/phones.
Be nice if they widen phone support but more basic format would be good and not require much to enable it as jpeg
Interestingly I had the last reply from support last night. It said it had been referred to the developers and basically no way.. But I compared the 4 replies I had this time to those from last time, identical. Indeed they were nearly the same when using PL V8 even further back.. The three conclusions are that those who don’t get replies must be raising new problems that they haven’t programmed the reply for yet and secondly requests for HEIC (and DNG) must be high enough to have preprogramed replies. Lastly the AI response is so speeded up is laughable the email saying to be referred to the developers was just a few hrs before the last reply. At least earlier ones left a day or so between to give some pretence of doing so! How any one needing support actually gets a human now would be interesting. One of the delivery firms I found the way was you keep pasting human in to the chat text box and in the end you were passed to one.
