I have been using the repair tool to try and remove branches from photos. Sometimes it works as expected and cleanly removes the highlighted section. But quite often I am left with a faint reminder of the branch. If I repeat the repair on the small residue, it fails to remove much and so I am left with a smudge. I tried different settings on feathering from 0 to 100% but did not see any change in the result.
Try using the Clone option rather then repair. You will likely need to add feathering, perhaps a lot of it. When cloning also be careful to select a replacement mask with the same exact hue or the mask area will have an obvious outline. Here is a quick and dirty example.

it’s always been an issue, what ever you try to do, when you zoom in an image you’ll see what’s left from PL removal or clone tool. it’s been years i’ve had hope it would work but never did.
@monkeyBoy – just to add …
If to remove remaining pieces, you can try a new instance and set the tool to “Repair.” Sometimes this helps to align the file with the environment and sometimes it doesn’t.
With some exercise / experience you might get it done, however, PL is no pixel editor.
