This image finally came together today. I was struggling with a normal color image lit by direct early morning sun (you work with what you have) with super contrast. I was editing it in black and white, but then noticed a preset (I rarely use presets) called “Glacier” which struck home. I love it. The original color of the railcar is a bright iPhone 17 Pro orange. Nikon Z8

The tyranny of “lots of light” when it’s “all from one direction”.
I like the result. I’m actually having trouble believing the bright orange while looking at the image. It has a vintage film look which is doing it great service — just enough colour to break out the subject from the background elements.
