I successfully got version 6.5 running. Upon the first launch, I selected the CPU option and then exited; I then relaunched the program and switched the setting to the GPU. I’m not sure if this is the crucial step, but I re-ran the version 6.5 installer after updating the Windows App Runtime—make sure you have the latest version of the Windows App Runtime.
Successfully running version 6.5 and using a discrete graphics card for processing.
Processing speed has seen a noticeable improvement in version 6.5. Based on Task Manager resource usage, I observed that peak VRAM consumption rose from 1.9 GB in the old version to 3.1 GB in version 6.5, while RAM usage increased from 1.6 GB to 2.2 GB—indicating a more effective utilization of modern hardware resources.
Glad you’ve got it working OK but I think a lot of us don’t even get to that selection option. Certainly for me after multiple uninstalls, clear downs and re-installs, once the install finishes and it fires up., the splash screen displays and then it just crashes.
Some users have reported that the program can be opened again by using compatibility mode. Once opened, configure it to use CPU processing and ensure the Windows App Runtime is up to date. Then, run the version 6.5 installer again to reinstall the software. After that, launch PureRAW, exit it, and relaunch it; you should then be able to configure the graphics card settings. Make sure to run the program as an administrator throughout this entire process; image processing works normally for me as well.
I have tried this process and while I can get the app to launch in Windows 8 Compatibility mode and I can set the acceleration to CPU Only, and I do the Windows App Runtime update, repair the PureRAW installation and can then choose my Nvidia RTX3000 GPU, but the program doesn’t use the GPU acceleration. If I then stop the DxO PureRAW process that is running and launch DxO PureRAW it fails to launch exactly as before. This solution was not successful for me.
Same here. After going through this whole procedure, the GPU does show up as an option, but it still isn’t actually being used. As soon as you completely close the app, nothing works again and you have to go through the compatibility settings all over again just to get the app to open.
Also, with this workaround, the Lightroom integration doesn’t work at all. I can click “Process in PureRAW” as many times as I want, but absolutely nothing happens.
So unfortunately, this workaround is pretty much useless for me.
