Since the latest PureRaw 6 update, my whole system freezes, nothing will open and I have to restart PC after using DXO PureRaw 6 for processing a couple of images from Lightroom. The progress bar halts and an error message “an error has occurred” pops up. Then lightroom, DXO PureRaw 6, Web Browser and anything else is unresponsive or won’t open.
This didn’t happen before the update, and unfortunately I haven’t got the previous installation file (overwritten) to roll back.
I have 32mb RAM, Nvidia GTX 1080ti graphics card with 11mb ram, so my setup exceeds the specifications needed.
I have updated the Nvidia studio driver (and done a complete clean reinstall) and changed the power settings on the GPU to High Performance, along with all the other ‘tweaks’ recommended by DXO, but the problem persists.
Any help would be appreciated, or a way to get the previous installation file back.
No, it doesn’t exceed the minimum specs. PureRAW 6 requires at least a NVIDIA RTX™ 2000 with 6 GB of VRAM with latest drivers. A GTX 1081Ti is well below that spec:
Initially, I asked DXO for a copy of the previous version which worked with my setup. I was told this was not possible. Having been corrected about the graphics card requirement, I bought and installed a 3060ti Graphics card with 8GB memory.
I did a totally clean install using DDU to remove previous drivers, and installed the new card with up to date drivers direct from NVidia’s site.
Now, instead of crashing and freezing immediately, It allows me to process one raw file, taking about 30-40 secs, then on the next file, it errors out after 5-6 mins. Then it freezes my system and I have to restart.
After installing the new card, I was then sent a link to download the previous version by DXO (the version they said was not available).
I am waiting for a response from them to my question “should I try the previous version, or is there something I need to do in order to use the current version without having to constantly restart my machine after processing one raw file”.
