PureRAW 5 is too slow!

Hello everyone,

DXO PureRAW 5 runs far too slowly on my laptop—a Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 16" AMOLED (Ultra 7 258V, 32GB/1TB SSD, Win 11).

The images are from a Nikon Z8, are around 50MB in size, and processing takes 3 minutes per image on the laptop—which is simply much too long. On my PC, a single image takes just 10 seconds; I understand that a laptop won’t be as fast as a desktop PC, but 3 minutes is simply excessive.

I bought this laptop specifically to edit my photos while on vacation, but at this rate, it is completely useless.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I might boost the performance or speed?

Best regards,

Sven

Having checked the specs:

…That laptop has a integrated 8GB GPU with a base clock of 400 Mhz. By contrast my 1080Ti has a base clock of 1480 MHz. There is a mentioned dynamic frequency feature… some kind of overclock?… that might give you better performance if you can enable that.

It may just be that it’s not boasting enough GPU horsepower to give you good performance.

I only have PhotoLab. Does PureRaw have settings to force usage of the CPU, rather than the GPU, for rendering? If so, have you tried that?
