Pureraw 5.5.0 Can't Install/Upgrade

I am trying to update my Pureraw from 5.4 to 5.5 but when I run the install I get an error stating that there is a problem with this windows installer package and a program required for this install to complete could not be run.

What if you uninstall the old one first and then install the 5.5?

The error indicates that the installer is corrupted or not compatible with your OS. The normal way to deal with this is to download the installer again and make sure you’re downloading the right installer.

I’m having same problem here - why again DXO software issues - Cannot update to v5.5. The install failed and rolled back. You said to download the right installer - where is the secret place to find the right installer…i’m using windows so i downloaded the windows versions - tried it 4 times. Also tried from the pureraw app, also tried the download from my DXO account - all failed. FAILED.

Exactly the same issue for me. I upgraded using the downloaded file using the Update prompt from within the PureRAW 5.4 app. I get the error message when the installer reaches the ‘Removing backup files’ stage.
“There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.”

I tried that but still the same problem. I even uninstalled PureRAW v5.4 and then reinstalled it to check if I had a Windows 11 issue, but it installed normally.

I have tried the install/update on 2 computers and with files dowmloaded both from the update notification in 5.4 and from the link in my DXO account. I get the error mentioned in my first post and it then rolles back at the end of the install as others have mentioned. I have raised an issue with support and await a response from them regarding the issue.

Looks like the issue is down to the new photoshop plugin. I have just tried doing the update but setting the plugin to be unavailable and the install completed successfully albeit without the new plugin.

ah yes - it’s working now - make the photoshop plugin unavailable.

Really - DXO team…their suggestion to first check the graphic card’s update or microsoft updates sounds like typical help centre generic push away. Lucky they didn’t ask me to go buy a new computer.

for those still having problems installing the update with the PS plugin. Check if the following directory exists on your computer?
Path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\RemoteComponents\UPI\UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent

Inside this folder, check if the following executable file is present: UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent.exe

This file is needed to install the plugin. If its missing try re-installing the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App which should install the required file.

I had the same problem. I was logged as User with administrator rights. I had to activate the real Administrator account (root) in my professional Windows 11 to make the installation possible.

Hi,

Deactivate photoshop plugin during setup resolve error.

Ok for me (but now dxo is not in photoshop plugin. grrrr, not god DXO !)

Thanks,

Fred
