Hi, just throwing it out there, just now I use version 4, I looked around at reviews on version 5 and many said it was not as good as 4 so I’ve held off till now, recently after the MAC OS updated to Tahoe I was unable to send an image from Lightroom to Pure Raw 4 (message that file format not recognized) I found a work around by sending one image from the Finder window to DXO 4 then able to send rest from Lightroom until closed down computer, restart from beginning again, recently tried the trial of version 5 and that works as should, Lightroom to Pure Raw 5 and back no problems. Now to the question, if I purchase version 5 that I believe was released in April 2025 and they release a new version 6 around the same time this this year would I need to purchase the new upgrade of version 6 from version 5 or would it be a free upgrade? I have read about people who purchase a software then after two months a new version arrives and they have to pay the upgrade price. Sorry about the long winded post but had to try to explain my question. Russ.
Hi,
Yes, moving from the current v5.7 version to the future v6.0 which should be released in March or April will cost the price of an update.
If you want to buy PR, I advise you to wait and buy v6.
Last year the update to v5 was 80€.
When it arrives trial it before buying it!
