Purchase Timing for PureRaw (version concerns, not price)

I have been a DxO PhotoLab user for a long time but I am several version behind. I am still on version 5. I have trialed DxO PureRAW and I believe that will be my next purchase rather than upgrading PL. I know that, price wise, I just missed the Black Friday sale. I actually don’t mind paying full price though.

My biggest concern is in purchasing version 4 shortly before a version update. So to those more familiar with the upgrade cycle for PureRaw I ask:

Is this a wait it out till the next version drops time? I certainly have no urgency so if waiting a month or two gets me a version update that is what I would rather do. However, I don’t want to be waiting months on end.

Thanks,
Todd

As often, we can find answers in the Internet:

This was last year’s article in Photo Rumors, written or published in March.
Assuming a one year cycle, we could expect a new version to emerge at about the same time this year.

No matter what has happened in the past the only people who know when the next version will launch are at DxO. Anything we say here will only be a best guess and cannot be relied upon. Platypus has shown you a historic fact, whether that will hold true for the future is for you to decide.

here my logging:
|Date | Version |
|— | — | — | —|
|05.03.2024 | 4 |
|15.03.2023 | 3 |
|16.03.2022 | 2 |
|14.04.2021 | 1 |

if I have to guess: 26.02.2025

Thanks all.

I was aware of the release date of the latest version (yes the internet is great for such information). What I was missing was the frequency of new versions and the pattern of release dates.

It very much sounds that, baring any pressing need, I should probably wait and see what happens over the next couple of months. I have been caught in the just purchased before update situation with DXO in the past.

BTW, I would just like to mention how blown away I am with my trial version of PureRaw 4. As I said in my OP I am on PL5. Good software in itself. But, wow, what improvements they have made, it just keeps getting better.
