I receive e-mails “Don’t miss your special upgrade price for DxO PhotoLab 9!/DxO PureRAW 5” with price exactly the same as standard shop upgrade…
Am I missing something or they just try how stupid their customers are?

That reminds me of the Little Orphan Annie Decoder Ring scene in the movie “A Christmas Story.” 
Most of the time, we just get a ton of ordinary ads. Nevertheless, I can attest that DxO sometimes does extend special offers and advance notice of their plans through their e-mail newsletter.
