Windows 11 Pro 25H2 is installed and it’s build 26200.9168
Computer is Intel i9 14900K (3.20 ghz) with 128gb Ram, 2TB SSD Primary drive & 4 TB secondary drive with an Nvidea RTX 3060 12gb graphics card. Motherboard is an ASUS Thunderport 4 compliant ProArt Z790 Creater WIFI. So a decent amount of power and more than enough memory.
Note, Install’s have been done using Run as Administrator. Please keep that in mind because it really does bug me when people who haven’t actually read the post reply with questions that have already been answered.
During the Photolab 9 usage updates when smooth until 9.7. That one require 5 or 6 attempts before it finally installed. With 9.8 the install crashed and at the same time completely disabled both PhotoLab 8 and PhotoLab 9. To get that to install I had to use Google AI to instruct me on how to totally remove every single trace of DXO software from the Main file structure as well as the files contained in the Operating system. Then I was able to get 9.8 to install. Some time later an update to 9.9 went thru without my even being aware of the update.
One other detail is that on my laptop the install for PhotoLab 10 went smoothly after I did a standard uninstall for PhotoLab 8.
Also note I have the Elite version so 3 seats are available. I’ll only use 2 but that spare may be needed in the event of a hard drive failure.
The install for PhotoLab 10 on my Desktop is basically crashing. The Install Wizard starts up fine and gets almost to the end of the first pass of files and then the message “Rolling Back” comes up and the progress bar reverses and then the installer closes. I then get an error message “DXO Setup Wizard Ended Prematurely”. Which is exactly what happened with those prior Photolab 9 updates.
Need suggestions here because we all know how poor DXO Customer Support is. Basically there is NO Customer Support. Take note of how the “Customer Support Team” is never present.
My thoughts are to delete ON1 and see if that helps. DXO has been good enough that I never use ON1. The other is that I may have to delete PhotoLab 9.9 but I really do not want to do that because it does work so well. BTW, have poked around with PhotoLab 10 on my laptop and it is well worth the cost of upgrading. Problem is a really don’t like the idea of deleting working software due to the risk of PhotoLab 10 never installing.
