Not the a particularly good editor more of a enhancer just slight improvements for my storm photography genre and beginning my editing journey.
Picked DXO products thats it.
Recently tried NIK err am I missing something appeared to me wasnt much that couldn’t do in photo lab or is it the fact NIK is quick easy select your preset use slider job done without a longer edit with PL to produce something similar.
I recommend you look at the many videos on using Nik. It can be a very useful tool but it is not a “front line” editor. It is more for enhancing/tweaking already edited images.
will do chaps got another 2 weeks yet even then will wait till Black Friday they may have a bundle pack or even some new integration of products who knows whats in store for us DXO users but one would think more than incremental update this time round as someone mentioned maybe DXO is falling behind a little. Thanks for replies cheers from australia
You’ve already answered your question in your own post!
If I had to give an answer, it would be something along these lines: Nik is like eating out in a fast food restaurant while PhotoLab is more like cooking your own meal or eating in a gourmet restaurant. Some people cook, others don’t.
PhotoLab seems to provide what you need. So why should you spend money on something that doesn’t add to your images? Or sell your photos with greater profit?
“quick easy select your preset use slider job done” is true for PhotoLab too. Provided you have saved the respective presets in PL.
